Klitgaarden Refugium \u2013 formerly known as Kongevillaen \u2013 is a very special place in Skagen, where history, architecture, and silence meet. The villa was built as a royal summer residence in the early 1900s and today functions as a modern refuge, created for contemplation and concentrated work.<\/p>

Klitgaarden was built in 1914 as a summer residence for Christian X and Queen Alexandrine. The architect behind the distinctive yellow villa was Ulrik Plesner, who left a significant mark on Skagen's architectural style during the period. The villa soon acquired the nickname The King's Villa<\/em>, because the royal family often stayed here.<\/p>

In the year 2000, the building was carefully restored and converted into a retreat. Today, Klitgaarden functions as a workspace where creativity and professional immersion can unfold in calm surroundings, far from the demands and disturbances of everyday life.<\/p>
