Blockhouse with nature and culture in abundance
On the west coast, approx. 20 kilometers south of Løkken, you will find Blokhus, which is packed with attractions, experiences and beautiful nature with plenty of opportunities to explore North Jutland. On the outskirts of Blokhus you will find North Jutland's large amusement park, Fårup Sommerland.
Fårup Sommerland is 90 hectares in size and has many rides - both for children and adults, as well as a large water park with various water slides.
Inside Blokhus town you will find the sculpture park, which is a 20,000 square meter park filled with various sculptures. During the Christmas period, the sculpture park transforms into an adventurous Christmas park with millions of Christmas lights. Further down the road you will find the Museum of Paper Art. A lot of paper art of all sizes are on display here.
On the way down to Blokhus Strand you will find Blokhus Redningsstation (Rescue Station) with the iconic green gates with crossing Dannebrog flags. In Blokhus there is lots of beautiful nature, where especially the dune plantations and the North Sea are in the center. Blokhus Gateway is also a popular excursion destination, where there is room for picnics, exercise and play. Here are, among other things, picnic areas, nature playgrounds, fitness route, natural oven and bicycle routes. Blokhus Gateway is connected to Sti 100, which is a 47-kilometer-long walking and partly cycling route between Blokhus and Løkken. Located close to Blokhus, there are several dune plantations, with the opportunity for hiking and just enjoying the fantastic surroundings.
