North Jutland - An ideal place for irrigation
The nature in North Jutland has something special. Hiking is a great way to get around and experience the many hiking routes and their beautiful nature. No matter what type of hiking route you want to go on, North Jutland has a wealth of walks and trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels. Just put on your walking shoes, head out into nature and find a route that suits you best.
The North Sea Trail - walking the history of the coast
The North Sea Trail is part of the more than 5,000 kilometres of trails established on old historical tracks around the entire North Sea. Rescue routes, church paths and royal roads are linked to various natural and cultural historical sights. The trail is called the North Sea Trail and runs through several of the Top of Denmark nature areas. There are stages along the west coast, along the Kattegat coast, in the west from Løkken to Skagen and from Skagen further south to Voerså.
Clover trails in North Jutland
In Toppen af Danmark, Clover Trails have been established in Hirtshals, Hjørring, Løkken, Lønstrup and Sæby. These hiking routes take you through North Jutland's historic urban areas and stunning nature. In each city there are four cloverleaf trails, all with a common starting point and varying lengths. No matter which city you are in, there is a hiking route to suit everyone, whether you are a beginner or experienced.
Hærvejen - a historic route
Hærvejen is part of a historic pilgrimage route with hundreds of kilometres of hiking trails that run through Jutland. In North Jutland, you can walk the Hærvejen along the west or east coast, either from Børglum Kloster via Lønstrup and westwards up to Hirtshals or from Jyske Ås to Frederikshavn. Both routes take you through beautiful landscapes and nature characterised by the history of North Jutland.
No matter which hiking route suits your needs, you can get around North Jutland's nature areas on many of the signposted routes and trails.
