2027

Would you like to train as a guide – you'll receive good training and have lots of fun experiences!

Cruise to Skagen, Denmark

Cruise Skagen Denmark is a local cruise network that was established in 1999 with the aim of attracting cruise tourism to Skagen. The network works specifically to market Skagen as a cruise destination to European and American cruise operators.

Skagen has been receiving cruise ships since 1999, and the number of visits has grown over the years. In 2027, more than 100 cruise visits are expected, which highlights the great interest in Skagen as a destination.

Since 2002, Cruise Skagen Denmark has also provided training for local guides who are responsible for tasks related to cruise operations and guided tours of Toppen af Danmark.

Why do we need more guides?

Cruise Skagen Denmark and Toppen af Danmark currently have a guide corps of about 50 guides with different language skills. However, with the increasing demand for guided experiences, there is a need to expand the corps – especially with guides who speak fluent German and/or English.

Following the recent expansion of Skagen Harbour, which was completed in the spring of 2021, the harbour has two quays that can be used by cruise ships. This means that on some days, two entire cruise ships are docked in the harbour simultaneously. On such days, the need for guides is particularly great, as many international guests are going on excursions and experiencing Skagen and the area around the city.

That is why we are looking for new, dedicated guides who are eager to convey the area’s history, culture, and attractions and help our international guests have a great experience.
