Artist Chris Præstegaard
The talented artist moved to Skagen in 2016 and he now lives right in the middle of the city behind Ancher's garden.
Here he paints his abstract paintings, and the portraits he also loves to work on. Chris Præstegaard has been painting for 25 years, and he has exhibited in countless places in Denmark. His works sells to art enthusiasts from both Denmark and abroad.
He has saved and nurtured the inspiration from the 15 years he lived and worked abroad. Over time, the painter has moved from place to place, and along the way absorbed the essence from all the places. The trips went to Africa and the East, and he has, among other things, been a resident for 5 years in Tanzania/Zanzibar and 2 years in Ghana. His works with tribal people are inspired by the many impressions from these stays.
Skagen has always been in his heart, and now that he has settled in the city, he finds daily inspiration in the beautiful, unique, and wild nature. Along with nature, music also plays a key role in his life, he is an avid concertgoer, and over time he has also done portraits of artists who mean a lot to him.
