The Palm Beach is unique for Frederikshavn
Close to Nordstrand Camping and Rønnerhavnen is the palm lined beach of Palemstranden, which is Frederikshavn´s local and child-friendly beach with an exotic atmosphere and many activities. There are about 100 palm trees on the beach from May to September. There are volleyball courts, petanque lanes and a barbecue area on the beach, and there is free use of the sun loungers. There is a popular ice cream shop and toilet facilities at Palmestranden. Rønnerhavnen and Nordre Skanse are within walking distance from Palmestrand. The beach has a lifeguard station during peak season.
The forests around Frederikshavn are a popular excursion destination - all year round
There is nothing like the smell of beech forest and the sight of the white anemones covering the forest floor in the spring. Or how about a walk in the forest with beautiful golden deciduous trees? If snow has fallen, a cross country ski trip might tempt you? West of Frederikshavn the landscape is characterized by hills and valleys, and nature is exciting and challenging. See it all from above from one of the many viewpoints in the area, be it Øksnebjerg, Pikkerbakken, Dronningestien or a walk up Cloostårnet, which rises 160 meters above sea level.

Both in and a little outside Frederikshavn there are many good routes, in woods and along the beach, for both beginners and experienced runners. It's just about choosing which view you want.
